I got up early this morning and made Jackie bed coffee. After breakfast I spent some more time on the computer upgrade, then read the story for the writer's group and wrote my critique.
I was especially happy with the meeting this time. They've generally been good meetings, but this one especially left me with the feeling that I knew what I wanted to do to improve my story. I've always gotten good critiques from the group, but sometimes, with any critique, I'm left thinking, "Yes, everything you say is true, but now what do I do?" Of course, that's just the nature of a critique group--they're not there to write your story for you, they're there to help you identify the good bits and the problems. But this time I think I know where to go with this story.
