Clarion classmate Theodora Goss wrote a fascinating essay on being poor in the August 3rd entry of her occasional journal. I'm not in favor of being poor, but I am in favor of being frugal, and her article comes with a bunch of useful advice on being frugal. Being frugal is good for the soul. Being poor, I think, is less of a clear win. (Although, as Dora says, still a big win over a job that has actual direct soul-destroying effects.)
I guess I'm not over my jet lag. Last night I woke up around 3:00 in the morning and it took a long time to get back to sleep. Then, when I did, I slept until Jackie woke me up at 8:20, just in case I had a 9:00 meeting I needed to get to.
So, I guess I'll go on to bed now and see if I can get caught up on sleep.
