I frittered away much of the weekend playing with the public Mac beta of TerraGen, a program for generating realistic (or fantasy) landscapes. It's just the sort of thing that can capture my attention for hours at a time and keep me from getting anything useful done.
I haven't been writing. Busy at work. Nothing new, really.
It's warmed up a bit--it actually got above freezing yesterday after about two weeks of temperatures around 0°F. It was interesting, because we'd had gotten a small amount of snow just as the weather turned cold. The snow cover was so thin that most of it would usually have melted away by now, even if there hadn't been an actual thaw. But the snow stuck around, because it was so bitter cold. Yesterday we managed to melt a lot of it, even though the high was only about 34°F--the snow cover was that thin.
Then it had to go and snow a couple of inches last night. Sigh.
I don't really dislike snow. I certainly like living in a place that has four seasons. I've lived in Southern Florida and Southern California, and I like it better here. But I do get tired of winter long before winter is over.
