Well, I seem to be on track for writing every other day. Not as productive as I'd hoped, but there's still time to get a lot done.
Jackie's mom Barbara, who's moving to the area, arrived yesterday evening. We got together for breakfast this morning.
I did cook dinner, as planned. We had Barbara over as well, so I stuffed and baked three rock cornish hens and made gravy from the drippings. I made both brussels sprouts and green beans. It was all good. With a bottle of good wine, it made for a nice little feast.
After dinner, I stripped the meat off the carcasses and then put them bones on to boil for stock. (Now I'm waiting for it to cool enough to get the bones out and then put in the fridge before going to bed.) We got leeks and potatoes at the Farmer's Market last week, so we'll make soup with the stock either tomorrow or the next day.
Tomorrow and the next day are also the days for the Champaign-Urbana Spinners and Weavers Guild Annual Show and Sale. Jackie will have some yarn on sale. I don't think she's going to try and sell any finished goods (like hats or scarves) this year.
If you're in the area, go see! Buy yarn!
