So, I'm really interested in going to the writing retreat that Tobias Buckell is organizing for this summer. I sent off email formally expressing an interest. You should too. (For values of "you" that include everybody who reads this journal who's a speculative fiction writer. Wouldn't it be cool to spend a week writing and critiquing with a bunch of other cool writers?)

Work at the day job is going pretty well. I'm getting things done, feeling productive. That's always good.

I've been reading a lot, both fiction and non-fiction. About a third of the non-fiction has been writing books just lately. I'll try to write a bit about the better ones.
