Just a bit of writing. I've got 3530 words, so that's 160 new.

I'm just about to the climax. The next scene is the confrontation with the adversary, the scene after that the confrontation with the suspected killer. That's where the reader finds out what really happened. Once the horror of that has time to sink in, I'll hit 'em with the even-more-horrible ending and wrap things up.

I can see some flaws. As is often the case in my stories, it isn't personal enough for the hero. It's a police procedural, so a certain amount of detachment is appropriate, but I need something more. Fortunately, there are several obvious candidates. I'll think about them and see if one isn't better than another.

I woke up very early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. That's pretty rare. It made getting to the Fitness Center easy, though.

I got into work to find an urgent task had turned up. I went ahead and said I'd do it. It was a nice break from writing documents.
