Some writing today. I've got 230 words of a new story. (Not the hospital story I'd been making no progress on. This is a new gene engineering story.)

My AirPort failed yesterday. Without it, all the machines in my house (except the firewall machine itself) are off the net. I can get my laptop on the net by disconnected the ethernet cable from the AirPort and plugging it into the laptop. It's not really a convenient solution, though, because there's no good work surface to put the laptop on near there. So, I do my work elsewhere, then hook up just long enough to do whatever I need to be hooked up to the net to do (such as upload this entry).
